Hannah Lyon (PBB 2005) is studying for her Master’s of Divinity at Stellenbosch University in the Western Cape of South Africa. Why would a Davidson grad travel all the way to South Africa for a Masters degree? Well it turns out that with South Africa’s history of segregation, it is a fertile ground to learn about reconciliation – work near and dear to Hannah’s heart.

Two Project Burning Bush Alumni from PBB 2004 have been chosen for the George J. Mitchel Scholarship for the US-Ireland Alliance. Kyle Englund Krieger is in Ireland now studying International Security and Conflict Studies at Dublin City University as one of their 2011 scholars, and Betsy Katz will be studying Intercultural Studies at Dublin City University next year as one of their 2012 scholars.

Post image for NEWS:  PBB Alum Alex Becker Wins Biblical Studies Award

Alex Becker (PBB 2004) won the E.L. Bell Memorial Prize for excellence in biblical studies at Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary. Alex is a second year student in the Masters of Divinity program. The award recognizes students’ work in Hebrew Bible and the New Testament at the conclusion of their first year of study. He graduated in 2009 from Messiah College with degrees in Biblical Studies and German, minoring in Church Music.
